Drops - Tags/Badges

Each Drop profile on our launchpad will include as much information as possible about the project/team so that you can make informed decisions on your purchases. This same information will be located in the Collections page under each collection profile.

Below are explanations for each icon/badge/tag and what they mean.

Tags

Tags are located below the project profile picture and are labeled accordingly. You can find them on both the minting page and the collection page. Tags are only earned if they have met the criteria below.

KYC - or Know Your Customer is proof of identity has been sent to Ebisu’s Bay and we’ve received a signed contract from the named party. This does not mean we can release the identities of those behind the project, instantly issue refunds, or that pursuing legal action is always an economical or viable option. What it does enable us to do is open these options.

Doxxed - the person[s] behind the project have released their identity publicly, usually through sharing their LinkedIn profile.

Note: we cannot verify whether the dox information shared is accurate. i.e. if a project lists on our secondary marketplace and has their LinkedIn profiles on their website, they could have the DOX badge added to their marketplace listing. We would not know if the profiles on their website are accurate.

Promoted - this project has paid to appear, either on our drop page or our homepage, through the form of a paid ad slot. This means they have not been through our normal launchpad process or due diligence, and in the circumstance that the project is minting on their own website, we have not checked the security of their website, contracts or connections.

Escrow - we are holding the funds raised from this project in escrow until they reach pre-agreed milestones. This does not mean that we can recover funds after they have been released, or that we can refund you during the escrow period if you are unhappy with the project before we release their funds. It does mean that if a project fails to continue to meet their obligations post mint we can use these funds to issue a refund, either in full or partially.

Note: all projects that are minted through the Ebisu’s Bay launchpad go through our standard due diligence process which includes, but is not limited to, KYC, a signed legal contract, proof of art ownership or permission to use the art (i.e. CC0), research into how the project will be sustainable, how the project will continue if they are unable to mint out and how the project will provide value to their holders, or if the project is art only, ensuring that this is made clear to prospective minters. None of this due diligence acts as a guarantee that a project will be successful or prevents bad actors from ‘gaming’ the system and ultimately abandoning the project. Ebisu’s Bay always recommends you do your own research into every project before deciding to mint and none of the tags or due diligence referred to in this document should be considered as a recommendation to mint.
